Suspect arrested, charged following deadly shooting in El Dorado

EL DORADO, La. (KNOE) – The El Dorado Police Department has arrested a suspect after a deadly shooting on Wednesday, June 24.

Officials say the shooting occurred around 11 p.m. in the 300 block of South Pelham Street.

El Dorado Police say upon arrival to the scene, 31-year-old Markivia Holmes was found with a single gunshot wound. Holmes was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.

According to authorities, 20-year-old Ronald Pierce was identified as the suspect and taken into custody without incident. He has been charged with manslaughter and felon with a firearm.
